Clayton Distillery is a farm-based distillery located in the beautiful Thousand Islands region of Northern New York, the first of its kind in the area. Our philosophy is simple: Homegrown. Handcrafted. Start with locally grown raw materials, learn from your mistakes, and improve every batch.
We opened in April 2013 and continue to work with this mindset. Our products begin on our fifth generation family farm in Cape Vincent, New York. The four hundred acre farm was an active dairy farm until 2006 and is now used for growing corn, rye, and alfalfa. Additional ingredients are purchased from other local producers. Our spirits are double distilled in a two hundred fifty gallon copper pot still made in Louisville, Kentucky by Vendome Copper and Brass. Everything is distilled, blended, and bottled on site.
Our products are available to sample at our tasting room and retail store in Clayton. They can also be purchased in a number of retail stores across New York. We welcome you to join us and discover for yourself that the proof is in the product.
